Marigold Colors

I have experimenting with vegetable colours.  I tried beetroot peels, coffee grounds, onion skins, green matter from lantana bushes, turmeric and also marigold flowers.

Some of them came out quite pale because of various reasons. But the turmeric and marigold flowers were brilliant.  The beetroot peels were a lovely mauve pink, the onion skin a beautiful warm brown, and the coffee grounds gave a pale brown.

It does take a lot of time and fuel, what with boiling the cloth with vinegar or salt for an hour, and then boiling the vegetable matter for hours together to get a concentrated color.

But it was fun, and perhaps I will try it again.
